Job 14:7-9 NKJV “For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots will not cease. [8] Though its root may grow old in the earth, And its stump may die in the ground, [9] Yet at the scent of water it will bud And bring forth branches like a plant.”
Have you seen a tree that has been cut off? I sure have when I used to went hiking in the forest. There was one particular tree where it was cut off completely even when it is no longer connected to the stump, it laid over a small creek and I noticed that the tree was still full of budding leaves.
This is a picture for all of us that even when we think that we are cut off from the supply of water (God’s word) through the stump (foundation, whatever you think it might be, say your family or your local church ,that you got disconnected to), that at the scent of water – (if you come across God’s Words through any forms such as friend’s encouragement, or TV or scripture such as this musing post) – I pray that God’s Word will bring life and health to all your flesh (Proverbs 4:22) that you will have God’s strength to overcome that problem in your life right now.That there is Hope that you will overcome.
